Our client approached us looking for a contemporary extension to their home near St Andrews. The house is located on a sloping site and has incredible views across Fife to the north. They wanted a large family living space, linked to their kitchen and dining room with a new entrance, boot room and WC to the rear. They are self-builders and intend to manage the build themselves but recognised that skilled design input was required to develop their brief into a tangible design. We discussed their requirements in detail and provided several differing, contemporary options for consideration, eventually settling on the current design featuring a glazed north facing facade with stone chimney breast feature and raised terrace surrounding the extension. Planning Permission and Building Warrants were obtained in 2024 allowing the clients to proceed with the build in early 2025.
