Like many houses, this one had a conservatory which was under-used as it was too hot in summer and too cold in winter. It also created a barrier between the main part of the house and the garden.
The new extension replaces the conservatory and extends to the side of the house. A large opening is made in the rear wall to link the refurbished kitchen to the new extension creating a contemporary kitchen/dining/living space. The space flows out to the rear garden via new sliding doors.
